Analysts suggest Battle Royale mode coming to Call of Duty in future

Wall Street Journal reporter has shared a new expert from an analyst about Activision Blizzard’s expected 2018 and beyond, and how the company will increase revenue in the next year.

The report from Oppenheimer suggests a Battle Royale mode could be coming to Call of Duty in the future, as the popularity of the new genre has gained the attention of Activision.

“In addition, the investment firm says Activision is keenly aware of how other publishers have benefited from releasing titles in the popular Battle Royale genre.” 

Activision has made no announcements about a possible Battle Royale for Call of Duty. Activision recently announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, developed by Treyarch. The game’s reveal is set to take place on May 17. There is no indication as of now about a Battle Royale mode for that title.

The Call of Duty Online for China game, developed by Raven Software, gained a smaller Battle Royale-type game mode recently. Call of Duty Online remains a China exclusive title.

Many in gaming have been struck by how popular Fortnite and PUBG have been this past year, with other publishers possibly having to look at ways to catch up with the changing gaming landscape.
