Best AK-74 loadout in Warzone
Charlie IntelThe AK-74 is a good AR choice if you’re new to Warzone Season 1 or have just Prestiged. To get the best out of the weapon, your loadout must have the meta attachments and the ideal set of Perks and Equipment.
The best attachments are necessary to make the AK-74’s recoil pattern manageable. While its accuracy may require some adjustment when targeting enemies at greater distances, this shouldn’t be a significant issue on Resurgence maps, where the AK-74 performs well across all engagement ranges.
To help you out, here’s the best AK-74 loadout in Warzone Season 1.
Best AK-74 loadout
- Optic: Accu-Spot Reflex
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag III
The Accu-Spot Reflex looks basic but that’s enough to provide a clear picture of what’s happening without allowing tunnel vision to come into play, so it’s perfect for close to medium-range gunfights.
The Compensator and Vertical Foregrip take care of the vertical and horizontal recoil of the weapon, thereby increasing the accuracy of the AK-74.
Coming to the barrel, opt for the Reinforced Barrel as it will boost the damage range and bullet velocity of the weapon. These two factors play a crucial role in faster takedowns in Warzone, especially when enemies are moving or are far away.
Lastly, the Extended Mag III is a better choice over here as it adds 30 more bullets to the magazine, a total of 60 bullets would be present in a single mag then. You can opt for the Extended Mag II which allows you to keep 20 bullets extra and better handling, but that comes down to a personal preference.
Perks, Equipment, and Wildcard
- Perk 1: Dexterity
- Perk 2: Quick Fix
- Perk 3: Ghost
- Wildcard: Battle Ready
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Stim Shot
The set of Perks and Equipment combo is similar to our AMES 85 loadout. Dexterity decreases the weapon sway when you’re jumping, sliding, and diving all across the map and allows reduced fall damage – a bonus in Warzone.
Ghost and Quick Fix are must-haves as the former keeps you hidden from UAVs, portable radars, and heartbeat sensors while the latter will regenerate your health immediately after a kill or when applying an armor plate.
Since we are using a 5-attachment AK-74 in Warzone, the Battle Ready Wildcard is a great option as it provides you with a UAV and Utility Box. Coming to equipment, go for Semtex to deal quick damage and Stim Shot for quick health top-ups.
How to unlock the AK-74
You can unlock the AK-74 after reaching player level 10. This AR gets unlocked fairly early in the game and shall only take you a handful of Warzone matches to get your hands on the weapon.
The unlock process will undoubtedly be faster if you have purchased Black Ops 6 too.
Best alternative weapon
The XM4 is a great alternative to the AK-74. Here’s why:
Stat | XM4 | AK-74 |
---|---|---|
ADS Time | 248ms | 316ms |
Bullet Velocity | 1080m/s | 870m/s |
Fire rate | 800rpm | 652rpm |
Hitscan Range | 54m | 43.5m |
Swap Speed | 1210ms | 1250ms |
The XM4 has a way faster aim-down speed (ADS) time compared to the AK-74 which means aiming will be faster and with a much higher bullet velocity, enemies will get knocked down quicker.
In Warzone, the fire rate is 148 rpm more than the AK-74, a greater hitscan range ensures better shooting down enemies, and a faster swap speed makes the XM4 superior. Alternatively, you can use the XMG if you prefer a bigger magazine size.
