Black Ops 6’s beta has three Assault Rifles available and they’re all incredibly powerful. But, if you’re looking for the best of the bunch, here are all the meta ARs ranked from worst to best.

3. XM4

The XM4 is just a great all-rounder, not excelling in any particular area but acting as that jack of all trades that the classic Assault Rifle has been known for.

It’s easy to control and does respectable damage up close and at a distance so you’ll never feel severely outclassed while using it. It’s not as powerful as the AK-74, nor does it have the fire rate and accuracy of the AMES 85, but no matter your skill level or play style, you can pick it up and play very well.

2. AK-74

The AK-74 acts as you’d expect, hitting extremely hard but having a slow fire rate as a trade-off. Despite this slow fire rate, it has surprisingly low recoil which perfectly complements its damage.

You’re probably not going to push Omnimovement to its limits when using the classic AR but if you’re an accurate player, there aren’t many guns that will be able to best you in a face-on-face fight.

1. AMES 85

The AMES 85 is the best Assault Rifle in Black Ops 6. While the AK-74’s damage lets it kill fast, the AMES’ incredibly fast fire rate and exceptionally low recoil make it a laser beam at all ranges.

You won’t have any trouble gunning players across the map as you’ll be able to land shots with ease, and up close you can let its fire rate do all the talking. You might not be able to take down SMGs like the Jackal PDW or C9 at close range, but in any other situation, you’ll be at a major advantage.
