Best FOV settings for Black Ops 6 beta

FOV is a setting in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 that you can increase to see more of your surroundings. It’s incredibly important to take advantage of as if you don’t, other enemy players with a wider Field of View will have a huge advantage over you.

That said, having a FOV that’s too high can affect performance and limit your vision for long-range fights, so what’s the sweet spot?

Here’s the best FOV setting we recommend for the Black Ops 6 beta.

Best Black Ops 6 beta FOV setting

The best FOV setting is between 100 and 115. I found that the max of 120 negatively affected my view at long-range, so I wouldn’t recommend putting it higher than 115.

You won’t want to go much lower than 100 either, otherwise, you’ll be at a disadvantage due to how much of your screen gets cut off.

To complement this setting, you’ll want to make sure you use Affected for the ADS Field of View and Wide for the Weapon Field of View settings. Combined, these will make things a lot more clear and prevent your weapon from taking up too much of the screen.

How to change FOV in Black Ops 6 beta

  1. Launch the Black Ops 6 beta from the CoD HQ app.
  2. Open up the settings in the top right.
  3. Select the ‘Graphics’ tab.
  4. Find the FOV settings under ‘View.’
  5. Use the slider to select your preferred FOV and press the ‘Show More’ button to access ADS Field of View and Weapon Field of View settings.

Does FOV affect PC performance?

Yes, FOV will affect your PC’s performance in Black Ops 6, as an increased Field of View means that your rig will have to process more information.

Unfortunately, for those with older models, an FOV of 110 and above may cause some issues. If you experience stuttering or low frame rates, simply reduce your FOV until the problem stops.

What is Affected FOV?

When you have the Affected option on, your ADS FOV is a closer value to your Field of View setting, while the Independent option uses the default zoom regardless of your FOV.

I recommend having the Affected FOV setting on if your Field of View is within our recommended range. This is because the heavy zoom you get with Independent can be such a huge jump, making it feel a bit disorientating to ADS.

However, if you’re struggling to see enemies at long distances but want to keep a high FOV, try Independant, as it may help you.

Pair the best FOV with the optimal audio and PC settings in Black Ops 6, as they’ll help you earn victory and obtain all the beta rewards.
