Liam Mackay
Sidewinder MW3

MW3‘s Sidewinder was no near the best gun at launch, but following the addition of its JAK Thunder LMG Kit, this gun unexpectedly skyrocketed in popularity when equippin the best loadout making it one of the best BRs to use in the game.

So, here are the ideal attachments, Perks, and Equipment you need to use to make the most out of it.

Best MW3 Sidewinder loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus Predator Precision Barrel
  • Optic: JAK Glassless Optic
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Conversion Kit: JAK Thunder LMG Kit

We kick off with the attachment that changes it all, the JAK Thunder LMG Conversion Kit. This transforms the weapon into a hard-hitting LMG with outstanding bullet velocity and damage range.

Then, the Tempus Predator Precision Barrel will boost the bullet velocity, gun kick, and recoil control. I chose the FTAC Ripper 56 to further improve the gun’s recoil when holding the trigger for a prolonged time.

Finally, the JAK Glassless Optic makes enemies easier to see, and the VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor will enhance the Battle Rifle’s bullet velocity and range, as well as add a little recoil control.

Best Perks & Equipment

  • Vest: Overkill Vest
  • Gloves: Marksman Gloves
  • Boots: Lightweight Boots
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Flash Grenade

We’ve opted for the Overkill Vest for increased weapon swap speed and the ability to reload while sprinting, countering some of the weighty attachments.

The Marksman Gloves reduce sway and flinch, making the weapon slightly more accurate. Then, the Lightweight Boots and Ghost T/V Camo will increase the movement speed, which makes it up for the LMG style build, and allow you to move without your footsteps being heard or UAVs revealing your position.

Finally, the Semtex is an easy-to-use and powerful explosive, and the Flash Grenade will blind enemies long enough for you to get a quick kill.

How to unlock Sidewinder

To unlock the Sidewinder, you’ll need to hit Level 25 and then complete eight Daily Challenges.

Your first three will be typical Daily challenges such as getting assists, then wins will start counting toward the Armory Unlock progress.

Best Sidewinder alternatives

If you’re not enjoying the Sidewinder, then the SOA Subverter is a fantastic option, and it’s also hard to go wrong with the BAS-B, which feels more like an Assault Rifle.

Be sure to complement this loadout with the best controller settings and audio setup to dominate the game and earn as many free rewards as possible.
