Best STG44 loadout for MW3
ActivisionThe iconic STG44 made its return in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 and the World War II Assault Rifle is looking to dominate multiplayer again. Although long-time players will be more than familiar with how it plays, you’ll still need the best loadout to get the most out of it.
It’s one of two new weapons introduced by the update after last being seen in Vanguard and Warzone Caldera.
Here’s the best STG44 loadout in MW3, complete with all the attachments, Perks, and Equipment you’ll need to create the meta class.
Best MW3 STG44 loadout attachments
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
- Barrel: Heinrichter C70 Long Barrel
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
- Optic: JAK Glassless Optic
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
The STG has one of the fastest TTKs of any Assault Rifle in MW3 Season 5, so our best loadout is all about making the most out of it by ensuring you hit your shots and maximize its range.
To kick things off, the VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor buffs the AR’s long-range capabilities, while offering extra recoil control. This pairs well with the Heinrichter C70 Long Barrel, which improves the range and velocity even further to let you pick off enemies across any map.
Next up is this DR-6 Handstop for an increase in ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds, making sure you always get the first shot in. These buffs are needed too, as the JAK Glassless Optic eliminates virtually all of the Assault Rifle’s recoil, but does slow it down slightly.
In my experience, the iron sights were accurate enough on smaller maps but could make longer gunfights tough on the likes of Afgan or Wasteland. This is why the Optic is included in our build, but if you can cope with the standard sights then feel free to swap it for the DR79 Combo Stock.
Lastly, the 50 Round Drum will let you take out entire teams before needing to reload, which is vital in fast-paced matches.
Best Perks & Equipment for STG44
- Vest: Assassin Vest
- Gloves: Commando Gloves
- Gear: EOD Padding
- Boots: Covert Sneakers
- Lethal: Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Smoke Grenade
The best STG loadout isn’t complete without Perks and the best place to start with the Assassin Vest to keep you hidden from UAVs. Then, Commando Gloves allow you to reload while sprinting, meaning you don’t have to stop to refill your ammo.
With so many explosives being thrown around, you’ll need EOD Padding to protect you from enemy Grenades and Semtex. We also recommended Covert Sneakers to remove the sound of your footsteps so they don’t give away your position.
When it comes to Equipment, the Frag Grenade is perfect for racking up a quick kill and clearing a room, while a Smoke Grenade can provide cover while you escape a tricky situation.
How to unlock STG44 in MW3
To unlock the STG44 you need to complete Sector 7 of the Season 5 Battle Pass. But, don’t worry, this is one of the free tiers, so you’ll be able to claim the new gun whether you’ve purchased the BP or not.
If you take the quickest route from the starting point, you’ll need a total of 20 Tokens to get the Assault Rifle, as you will first have to get all five rewards in Sectors 1, 2, and 4 before moving onto 5.
Best alternatives
If the STG44 isn’t quite cutting it, the SVA 545 is an easy-to-use but powerful AR that’s an absolute beast in MW3 5. Alternatively, you could go for the MCW, which has been the go-to pick for many players since the game launched.
The STG isn’t the only new addition in Season 5, as the update also brought a fresh Battle Pass, the Mercury camo, and Slam Deathmatch mode.
