Best Sniper Rifles in Black Ops 6 – Meta sniper loadouts

Black Ops 6 player aiming Sniper Rifle

Snipers have proved to be extremely effective in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, but picking the absolute best option can be tricky.

As you’d expect, Assault Rifles and SMGs like the XM4 and Jackal PDW have been the go-to picks for players looking to make the most of the game’s omnimovement system. But, if you want to counter the jumpers and divers, sitting back and landing one-shot kills from long range is the perfect way to do it.

With this in mind, here are the best Sniper Rifles and loadouts in Black Ops 6.

Best Black Ops 6 Sniper Rifle loadouts

1. AMR Mod 4

  • Muzzle: Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Commando Grip
  • Laser: Strelok Laser
Best AMR Mod 4 in BO6

Released as part of the Archie’s Festival Frenzy event, the AMR Mod 4 may be the newest sniper on the block, but it has quickly cemented its place at the very top. The high-kick, semi-automatic weapon hits like a truck and has a relatively quick fire rate. The attachments listed above will help you get the most out of the gun, starting with the Ported Compressor which reduces its vertical recoil.

Up next is the Reinforced Barrel, which boosts the effective damage range and bullet velocity. The Extended Mag I attachment gives you a few extra shots, taking the sniper’s ammo capacity to eight per magazine. Lastly, the Commando Grip buffs the sprint to fire and ADS speed while the Strelok Laser improves the ADS accuracy.

2. SVD

SVD class in Black Ops 6
  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Lightweight Handguard
  • Comb: Quickdraw Riser
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Fire Mods: Strelok Laser

The SVD is Black Ops 6’s version of the Dragunov, a classic CoD weapon that has typically failed to impress players. That said, the sniper truly shines in BO6 thanks to excellent handling, a rapid fire rate, and best-in-class magazine size. Our attachment selections maximize all of its qualities.

In particular, the Quickdraw Riser reduces ADS time by 13% while the Strelok Laser increases hipfire accuracy. These attachments help turn the SVD into a quickscoping machine, allowing you to down an enemy with a shot in the upper torso and move on to the next in no time.

3. LW3A1 Frostline

LW3A1 Frostline class in Black Ops 6
  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Comb: Quickdraw Riser
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Laser: Strelok Laser
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

For players who enjoy a bolt-action sniper rifle, the LW3A1 Frostline should be your weapon of choice in BO6. The gun feels satisfying to use, especially if you’re able to land your shots consistently. However, it lags behind the SVD in terms of mobility despite the semi-automatic rifle offering similar performance.

If you’re still dead set on using it, make sure to equip the attachments listed above, especially the Quickdraw Riser and Strelok Laser. The attachments will boost the sniper’s quickscope capabilities, while the Rapid Fire mode can speed up the fire rate.

4. LR 7.62

LR 7.62 class in BO6
  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Laser: Strelok Laser
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

The LR 7.62 ranks last on our list but it’s far from a bad weapon. Unlike the SVD and LW3A1 Frostline, it can eliminate enemies with a single shot to the lower torso and arms, making it more forgiving. However, it also has the worst handling in the entire class, which is why it can feel clunky to use at times. While the weapon fares well in Warzone, there are simply better options available in Black Ops 6.

You can boost the weapon’s mobility by equipping attachments like the Quickdraw Grip, which improves its ADS speed. The Strelok Laser and Rapid Fire mod have a similar effect, and make the weapon feel easier to handle.

There are a total of four Sniper Rifles in Black Ops 6 and all of them are capable in their own right. That said, every weapon has its strengths and weaknesses with some ranking higher in the game’s meta.

Meta analysis

Snipers started off solid during the early days of Black Ops 6 and only got better once Season 1 Reloaded landed. The update brought significant buffs to snipers and reduced weapon idle sway among other things. As a result, the weapon class has jumped ahead in the meta, and accurate players armed with a sniper can easily dominate lobbies.

At the moment, the AMR Mod 4 is the best sniper in the game. It comes with a comparatively fast fire rate and can one-shot enemies by landing hits around the waist area. There are minimal compromises when it comes to handling as well since the weapon doesn’t feel too heavy. You will have to contend with the high recoil, but it’s definitely manageable with a bit of practice.

The SVD takes second place as it’s capable of dropping players in just a single headshot from crazy distances. Luckily, thanks to its semi-auto fire rate and impressive accuracy, clicking those heads is an absolute breeze.

While it’s definitely a powerful long-range option, it does take slightly more skill to get the very best out of it. Unless you’re hitting headshots consistently, you’ll need to master the art of landing follow-up shots to secure a two-tap.

The LW3A1 Frostline comes in at number three mainly due to its lackluster handling. The bolt-action rifle is more than capable of killing enemies with a single shot but its slow fire rate means that missing can be fatal. With the SVD packing a similar punch, it’s easy to recommend it ahead of the Frostline.

In last place, we have the LR 7.62. As mentioned earlier, this isn’t a bad weapon by any means but it falls behind the pack in almost every area. The gun is still worth using in Warzone where most engagements happen at medium and long-range.
