The STG has become an instant hit upon its Season 5 introduction, especially with our loadout that focuses on bullet velocity, range, and control for long-distance gunfights.

First, we have the Quartermaster Suppressor, a new suppressor that improves gun kick and recoil control, making the STG a beast from range. This attachment is an Armory Unlock, so you’ll need to activate it and complete eight Daily Challenges or get wins to earn it. If you don’t have it yet, the Casus Brake is a good alternative.

Both the Heinrichter C70 Long Barrel and 7.92x33mm High Grain Rounds help a ton with bullet velocity and damage range, making the STG even better at distance. I found this attachment combo vital as it improves the AR’s hitscan range immensely to make it even more efficient.

To help recoil control even more and provide some firing aim stability, you’ll want the DR79 Combo Stock. Lastly, since you’ll be using the weapon a lot from range, the 50 Round Drum is essential, as it allows you to continue firing to take out your target even if you miss a few shots.

Next, Tempered is essentially for me, and the ability to get to full shields through two Armor Plates as opposed to three saves you so much time. Lastly, High Alert lets you know when you’ve been spotted, which is always helpful.

To unlock the STG44 in Warzone you’ll need to reach and complete Sector 7 of the Season 5 Battle Pass.

It’s a free reward, so you won’t need the premium Battle Pass offering to earn the new weapon, but you will need to grind out about 20 Tokens from the start to unlock the Assault Rifle.

Best alternatives

The STG44 is a long-range AR with little recoil, so a great alternative pick is the MCW. If you want something a little more tailored to the mid-range, the MTZ-556 should do you well after receiving buffs in the Season 5 update.
