Black Ops 6 campaign early access is getting more and more unlikely
ActivisionCall of Duty has given players early access to the campaign for the past two years, but it’s not looking like it’ll be the case for Black Ops 6.
Arriving on October 25, BO6 brings back fan-favorite Treyarch multiplayer and Zombies while reuniting players with fan favorites like Woods and Adler in the campaign.
While Treyarch campaigns are generally held in high regard, it’s going to be Zombies and multiplayer that will keep players coming back throughout the year. This is why the campaign early access periods were so welcome – players could experience the full story without having to worry about falling behind in multiplayer.
Does BO6 have campaign early access?
After both MW2 and MW3 had it, many players expected Black Ops 6 to bring single-player early for Vault Edition owners but as launch approaches, it’s only getting more unlikely.
Campaign early access was a key part of the marketing the past couple of years, being revealed alongside the games and their editions. We’re now in the same week the beta launches, and there has been no announcement whatsoever.
There’s no doubt that if it was coming this year, it would’ve been announced to drive players towards the Vault Edition. So, if it doesn’t have a surprise announcement at August 28’s Call of Duty Next event, it’s probably not going to happen.
Some are hopeful that there will be early access for Zombies, but unless it also gets a surprise reveal at CoD Next, it seems equally as unlikely. Treyarch have already denied it, and if pre-ordering or buying the Vault Edition gave early access to Zombies, you’d imagine that would have been marketed from the very beginning.
It’s more than likely that Call of Duty will return to the standard format, dropping all of Black Ops 6’s content on its October 25 launch. You’ll have to decide whether to play the campaign, load into multiplayer, or jump into the Terminus and Liberty Falls Zombies maps first.
