Black Ops 6 Kill Order mode

A new game mode called Kill Order is debuting in Black Ops 6 and you can get your first hands-on experience with it during the beta.

The mode is similar to Cold War’s VIP Escort but with a few noteworthy twists. To get you ready for the new experience when the first beta weekend kicks off on August 30, here’s what you need to know about Kill Order.

What is Kill Order mode in BO6?

Kill Order is a new Black Ops 6 mode where you’ll have to score points for your team by earning eliminations, while each team has a High Value Target (HVT) whose death and kills are worth more points.

The mode combines the classic format of Team Deathmatch with kills for your team resulting in points, and the added bonus of hunting the HVT to speed up the process. HVTs can also play aggressively and earn kills that are worth more for the team: “focusing on defeating the enemy’s HVT is worth the largest number of points, followed by eliminations by the HVT, then normal eliminations.”

The HVT gets added bonuses like armor plates, more Perks, and the ability to see enemies with a directional indicator on your minimap.

Only one player from each team is selected as the HVT and this player is vital to your team’s success.

Teams will likely want to keep a watchful eye on their HVT as they’ll attract a ton of attention from enemy players. By the looks of it, the mode will task you to balance defending your HVT with hunting the enemy’s.

Once we know more about the score limit and how much HVT kills and deaths are worth, we’ll be sure to let you know.

The mode is reminiscent of Black Ops Cold War’s VIP Escort but instead of an extraction point, the match follows a TDM score limit formula.

Your first taste of the new mode will come via the beta and you can gain access to the first weekend by pre-ordering BO6.
