Call of Duty fans have been eagerly awaiting the official reveal of the 2024 title developed by Treyarch, and the name Black Ops 6 has finally been officially confirmed.

Following a cryptic hype-building marketing campaign, Call of Duty have finally confirmed that CoD 2024 is the much-speculated Black Ops 6, ahead of a deep dive at the Xbox Showcase 2024.

In the announcement, Call of Duty shared a video revealing the title, along with the caption “A dark new chapter of the Black Ops franchise begins. Call of Duty: #BlackOps6.”

This confirms that CoD 2024 will be titled Black Ops 6, rather than Black Ops Gulf War which had leaked previously. However, according to an official Black Ops 6 image, the game is still to be set during the Gulf War era.

Prior to the official BO6 reveal, Reddit user ‘Deth3588’ shared an image of a leaflet, which featured the Black Ops 6 logo on the front and gave players a sneak peek of the game’s title.

The newspaper mentioned the ‘thetruthlies.com‘ website, part of BO6’s marketing campaign on May 22, which featured a TV with six channels, most of which were just static but occasionally show a handful of teaser images.

This all comes after the first teaser for the game arrived in Warzone in the form of the Sally Pistol Blueprint. Inspired by the cover of the original entry in the sub-series, it featured six tallies scratched into the side of guns, representing Black Ops 1 to 4, Cold War, and the 2024 release.

Little else is known about CoD Black Ops 6 at the time of writing, but Activision have confirmed the game will have its own Direct event at the Xbox Showcase on June 9, 2024, so expect more information to be revealed, including its launch date or whether the game is arriving on Game Pass on day one.
