Black Ops 6 players have one major complaint from the beta

Call of Duty fans have had five days with Black Ops 6 thanks to its closed beta, and despite feedback being positive on the whole, one big complaint has shone through.

While it’s certainly not unique to Black Ops 6’s beta, the community has been less than impressed with the game’s spawn system.

Players and content creators alike have called out the spawns, asking for a major overhaul to the system. Popular YouTuber TheXclusiveAce addressed spawns in a September 3 video, saying they are “not in a good place.”

He said that while Domination seems to have the best spawns across the modes, it can still feel like things flip around too often.

In Team Deathmatch, players spawn in “pockets” around the map to spawn as far away from enemies as possible, but this leads to them constantly flipping, making the game seem unpredictable and disrupting flow.

Domination spawns can flip back and forth extremely fast.

Meanwhile, with Hardpoint he feels there’s a “strange mix of sometimes being too trappy and sometimes being too flippy,” depending on the map or Hardpoint location. He also called out times when you’d spawn directly in an enemy’s line of sight or vice versa, and you’d kill someone then they’d immediately spawn beside you.

Over on Reddit, the feedback has been much the same with post after post complaining. “It feels like I am perpetually playing on Shipment and I do not like it,” said user l_Mir_l.

Another player called them the worst spawns they’ve seen in a Black Ops game, including betas. “Changing the spawn system would turn this potentially good game into a GREAT game,” they said. “And it would help all of the maps play better and more consistently.”

Many blame the unified engine, believing the spawn system is baked into the game at its core rather than something Treyarch have control over.

Of course, feedback is what betas are for, and Treyarch should be able to use all of it to work on spawns for the beta’s second weekend and the full launch on October 25.
