All Black Ops 6 Zombies Ammo Mods & effects
ActivisionAmmo Mods return in Black Ops 6 Zombies, giving you even more powerful and creative ways to slay the undead.
Treyarch are introducing plenty of new features this time around, like a third-person mode and even a save feature. But the return of round-based matches means fan-favorite features also make a comeback.
This includes the Ammo Mods system introduced in BO4, so here’s a breakdown of each one that’s confirmed to appear in Black Ops 6.
Every Ammo Mod in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Ammo Mod | Effect |
---|---|
Brain Rot | Bullets deal toxic damage. Each bullet has the chance to turn a Normal or Special enemy into an ally. |
Cryo Freeze | Bullets deal frost damage. Each bullet has a chance to slow Normal or Special enemies. |
Dead Wire | Bullets deal electrical damage. Each bullet has a chance to stun any Normal and Special enemy, generating a field that deals electric damage to nearby enemies. |
Napalm Burst | Bullets deal fire damage. Each bullet has a chance to ignite Normal and Special enemies. |
Shadow Rift | Bullets deal shadow damage. Each bullet has a chance to spawn a black hole if striking Normal or Special enemies, warping nearby zombies away and dropping some from the air at high speed. |
There will be five different Ammo Mods in Black Ops 6 Zombies at launch, each with a unique effect that can alter how you approach each fight. Fans will recognize the first four, Brain Rot, Cryo Freeze, Dead Wire, and Napalm Burst, as these are all featured in MWZ and Black Ops Cold War.
However, the Shadow Rift is a brand-new addition that sounds like it could become essential in the later stages of a run. Not only does it deal bonus ‘shadow’ damage, but it occasionally also teleports enemies into the sky, removing them from the equation for a short time.
This will be extremely useful for crowd control as the number of Zombies increases since you’ll be able to thin the herd and buy yourself some valuable time.
Each Ammo Mod also comes with six different Augments, another new feature that bolsters their effects even further. For example, the two revealed for Shadow Rift in the official blog cause the Zombies to land on top of each other after warping, or explode when they hit the ground.
We’ll be sure to update this page with all the Augments for each one as soon as they’re revealed.
How to get Ammo Mods in Black Ops 6 Zombies
You can get Ammo Mods by purchasing them at The Arsenal Machines or picking them up from ground loot. The first option is likely to be the most common and reliable way to modify your guns, as the ammo types are extremely rare drops.
The Arsenal Machines are scattered across Terminus and Liberty Falls, but you’ll need Salvage to buy your chosen upgrade. You can get this currency as a random drop after defeating enemies, appearing as “small piles of junk with a green outline.”
We’ll have to wait for the October 25 release date to know exactly how much Salavage each Ammo Mod costs, but we don’t expect them to be cheap given how game-changing they can be.
Black Ops 6 Zombies also features a ton of Perks to help you customize the way you play, as well as the returning GobbleGums to offer you deadly effects.
