Black Ops 6 Zombies players can finally save and quit – but there’s a catch

Black Ops 6 Zombies marks the return of round-based matches, and the mode is introducing a long-awaited feature to let players pick up where they left off – but with a couple of drawbacks.

For the very first time, solo players in this year’s Zombies will be able to save their game and carry on at a later date. When you return, you’ll begin from where you left off, so all of your weapons, Perks, and Gobblegums will be intact.

In the past, leaving a match for any reason would force you to start over from round one. But in Black Ops 6 you can save and quit at any time if you need to hop off for any reason.

The run also autosaves at the start of each new round, and a save is created automatically if you lose connection. This means you don’t have to worry about losing hours of progress if you run into internet issues mid-game.

This may seem like a relatively small change but it’s something that fans have wanted for many years. Zombies is all about finding new and interesting ways to survive until ridiculously high rounds, but the amount of time it takes meant that players would often have to abandon a run if they weren’t willing to do it in one sitting.

Now, we expect to see players hitting even crazier rounds, as they can simply hop in and complete a few waves before hopping off again.

However, this save feature does come with a few small drawbacks, with the main one being that it only applies to solo matches. Multiplayer games can’t be saved, so you’ll need to either quit altogether and start again another time or keep playing until you die.

The other downside is that you can only have one save slot at any time. So, if you save and quit a Zombies run but decide to start a new one, then your progress will be overwritten and you won’t be able to pick it back up.

Either way, this is still an incredibly useful feature that the community will no doubt use to go further in Zombies than ever before.

The devs have also revealed a ton of other information about the mode, including the option to play in third-person and an in-depth look at the Terminus map
