Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus gameplay, size, Easter egg & characters

Terminus is one of the launch maps for Zombies in Black Ops 6, and it brings the round-based fun back to the undead mode.

BO6 is just on the horizon, and we’re getting more and more details as we edge closer to its October 25 release date, including the first gameplay trailer for Zombies. We know there will be two launch maps –  Liberty Falls and Terminus.

Here’s everything we know about Terminus so far.

Terminus map location & size in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Terminus will be a round-based launch map for Black Ops 6 Zombies and is set on a remote prison island in the Philippine Sea. The prison has the same name as the map and was first unveiled at the 2024 Xbox Showcase, offering a first glimpse of the dark and rainy island setting.

It’s set to be one of the biggest round-based Zombies maps ever made, as it will have multiple areas and even a Tactical Raft that allows you to get to the ships and smaller islands around the prison.

Playable crew

Grigori Weaver, Dr. Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo are the crew for Black Ops 6’s Zombies’ storyline and the Terminus map. On top of the playable crew, players will also interact with Stoney “Raptor One” Maddox, Oskar Strauss, and Dr. William Peck on the map.

While Black Ops Cold War and subsequent games let players take any Operator into Zombies, Black Ops 6 goes back to the series’ roots with a set crew

New Wonder Weapon in Terminus

Terminus will feature a brand-new Wonder Weapon: the Beamsmasher. This gun has two firing modes, one which projects an Aetheric beam that obliterates enemies and another that emits soundwaves that incapacitate enemies.

All traps in Terminus

Trap	Description
Tentacle Traps	Located across the prison complex, these ceiling traps hang above doors and release long tendrils that grab and consume enemies that come in their path.
Void Cannon Trap	A 16-inch artillery defense cannon upgraded by Project Janus. It shoots an Aether Beam that slows enemies and pulls them into the beam to be vaporized.
“The Tentacle”	When taking the Tactical Raft on Terminus, beware of The Tentacle lurking in the waters. It aims to capsize the raft and emits noxious vapors to cause damage.

Terminus Easter egg details

The Main Quest in Terminus is associated with the crew’s aim of finding and killing Edward Richtofen, as well as escaping the island. You’ll first need to turn the power on and reach the Pack-A-Punch Machine, but after that, it’s up to you to explore and uncover the map’s secrets.

You can also opt for a more guided experience if you’d rather not spend hours searching every area of the map to progress the quest.

According to William Peck, Richtofen is the one who locked the crew up on the island and is also the one who stole his life’s work, as the iconic Zombies character is revealed as the Project Director of Requiem.

The story is set over half a decade after the events of Black Ops Cold War Zombies, where the crew have been locked up for over five years. Now, they have been broken out by William Peck and Maya Aguinaldo.

There also seems to be another objective to find Maya Aguinaldo’s brother, but we do not yet know much about this character or her sibling.

Gameplay trailer

This is the first gameplay trailer for Terminus, and it shows off various areas of the map, the new Wonder Weapon, Perks, the GobbleGum Machine, traps, and more.

The Call of Duty Next event will provide more information on Liberty Falls, the second round-based Zombies map coming at launch. We’ll also be getting additional information on BO6’s multiplayer and the future of Warzone, so there’s a lot to look forward to.
