Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack available now only on PC
UPDATE: PCDev has announced on Twitter that the Multiplayer Starter Pack will be available until Monday, March 7th on Steam.
Activision has released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack only on Steam for PC for a limited time. The offer ends on Monday, March 7th.
The way the Starter Pack works is that it gives you access to just the multiplayer portion of the game for $14.99. Players can get only certain features of Black Ops 3, including access to ranked Multiplayer matches, Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith, Arena, Freerun, Theater, and the Black Market.
With the starter pack, players in-game on PC will have a specific icon next to their Steam ID in lobbies to designate that you are playing on the Starter Pack. Players in the starter pack can buy the Season Pass and COD Points; however, with the Season Pass DLC, you can only use the multiplayer maps. In addition, players will only be able to use their Call of Duty Points in Multiplayer.
Features not available in the starter pack include ability to prestige and to play custom games; in addition, you cannot access the campaign or zombies mode. Activision has also stated that, once the mod tools for Black Ops 3 become available on PC, players in the starter pack cannot access those. You will need to upgrade to the full game for mod tools access (upon release). Mod tools are coming sometime this year to the PC version of Black Ops 3. More on that here.
If you decide to buy the entire Black Ops 3 game after playing this, you’ll be able to upgrade for $45 to the regular game or to the digital deluxe edition for $85 with the specific Multiplayer Starter Pack upgrade option available on Steam. Stats, Call of Duty Points balance, and more will transfer over from the Starter Pack to the full game if you decide to upgrade.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack is only available on PC platform on Steam. The Starter Pack costs $14.99. You can purchase it now here.
