Black Ops 1 DLC appears on Spain Xbox One Store, hinting at backwards compatibility release soon

Back in November, Microsoft confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 will soon be available on backwards compatible on Xbox One. However, both December and January list of games have been announced and Black Ops 1 was not included.

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that going forward they would be changing their release plans. Instead of waiting to release backwards compatible games every month, the games will now release once they are ready to go. Microsoft has stated that ‘being ready’ means the title has been approved by Xbox’s engineering team and the publisher.

Earlier today, on the Spain Xbox One store, Black Ops 1’s Annihilation DLC has started to show up for fans to purchase / download. If you switch your Xbox One’s region to Spain, you should be able to see the Annihilation DLC pack on your Xbox One console’s store.

While a release date for Black Ops on Xbox One backwards compatibility is not confirmed, this could hint at a possible release very soon. With all backwards compatible titles, players will be able to play all DLC packs and the entire core game on their Xbox One console, as long as they own each DLC pack and the game. Players are not required to own any DLCs to play the base game.

Microsoft sent a statement to AR12Gaming earlier claiming that they still do not have any announcements to make regarding a possible release date for Black Ops.

“As for right now though, we don’t have any details to share for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Skate 3, Halo Wars, Forza Motorsport 4 or Forza Horizon.”

We will update when Microsoft provides more details.
