Call of Duty rises to #1 on Twitch with Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta
Call of Duty back on top? Activision and Treyarch officially put the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta servers live on live on PlayStation 4, giving fans a first look at a Call of Duty Battle Royale experience. Blackout combines the history of the Call of Duty: Black Ops series into one large Battle Royale universe that’s “uniquely Black Ops,” Activision says.
Today, with the start of the PS4 beta, many were eager to see how the Blackout beta would look and play. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 took the #1 spot on Twitch as the beta started on PS4, making it the most viewed game ahead of League of Legends and Fortnite. Some of the peak numbers are higher than Call of Duty has had in a long time.
Call of Duty enters the crowed Battle Royale genre as Fortnite is the #1 game in the world. Blackout caters more to the fans who want an alternative to PUBG or even want a FPS-type BR on consoles, as PS4’s next FPS alternative has been H1Z1 recently.
The Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta is live on PS4 now through September 17. The full schedule for each platform is available here.
