CoD expert believes clue to new Warzone map is hidden in BO6 reveal trailer
ActivisionAlthough the release of Black Ops 6 is still far away, a CoD Easter egg expert believes that the BO6 reveal trailer is hiding a clue regarding Warzone’s new map.
The Black Ops 6 reveal event brought a ton of details about the Campaign, Zombies, and multiplayer, with a particular emphasis on the Black Ops narrative’s continuation.
Though Warzone wasn’t featured during the event, the limited BO6 content that was shared was enough for CoD Easter egg expert geekypastimes to find a possible hidden reference in the teaser trailer regarding Warzone’s next map.
As shared in an X post, the creator pointed out how detailed the region for one of the BO6 multiplayer maps was. Due to its large size, they thought this was “almost as if it’s really part of a bigger map… Like a Warzone map.”
This curiosity led another Warzone community member, Cassian, to find a map within Warzone’s Rebirth Island submarine called Avalon. Its layout “matches perfectly” with the surrounding area of the BO6 map in question.
In a reply to the post, several players shared that it could be a Resurgence map because it is “very small for a normal BR,” to which Geeky responded that what is seen might not even be the full map, as the “screenshot shows more places that look like POIs a bit further out.”
Expanding on this theory, content creator WhosImmortal pointed out in a June 13 video that it’s intriguing to find this map inside Warzone’s Rebirth Island submarine.
He also agreed that Avalon could be linked to the next Warzone map and given its seemingly small size, he speculated that it might be intended for the Resurgence mode, especially after the removal of Ashika Island.
Keep in mind that this is all just speculation, as nothing has been confirmed regarding a Black Ops 6-era Warzone map yet. Before this discovery from geekypastimes, leaks have hinted that Verdansk could return as the battle royale map.
The search for answers will continue, but players won’t have to wait long for more details, as BO6’s multiplayer is set for a worldwide reveal on August 28 at the CoD Next event.
