According to Call of Duty insider Metaphor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will feature Modern Warfare 2’s “horrible” shooting mechanics, despite being a step in the right direction.

Call of Duty fans are buzzing for the next installment of the FPS franchise, as the Call of Duty Next event will reveal much more information and gameplay for Modern Warfare 3.

That said, the community has already received a lot of information about MW3 thanks to Sledgehammer Games.

The devs behind MW3 revealed many aspects of the game, including the movement changes, the return of the classic minimap, and even a sneak peek at the remastered maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009).

Fans are excited about the content and changes, as many players, such as Call of Duty insider and content creator Metaphor, feel the game will be a “huge step in the right direction.”

That said, Metaphor is just as worried as he is optimistic, since he claimed that “MW2 2022 issues still exist.” In response to a reply asking what issues remain, Metaphor shared his thoughts on “shooting mechanics,” as he stated that they are “still horrible with visual recoil / crosshair bobbing while jumping and strafing.”

He went on to say that “jump ADS still massively [reduces] speed,” and he doesn’t think that people are “ready for this game to LITERALLY be MW2.5.”

However, Call of Duty Next is the perfect time to give the devs feedback, and Metaphor does believe that Sledgehammer Games are “willing to listen,” so he hopes that “proper feedback is given.”

We’ll have to wait and see how the game looks and feels come release, as many things can change between now and launch.

Players will get their first look at extensive gameplay at Call of Duty Next, but with access to the Modern Warfare 3 beta, they’ll be able to play the game early and have their own opinion regarding the shooting mechanics.
