Sloane initially carried Price’s role in 2019’s Modern Warfare and has been remarkably well-received by CoD fans. It was confirmed that Sloane will be reprising this role in the MW2 sequel, Modern Warfare 3, appearing at the center of its key art.
Barry Sloane is an English actor who has garnered recognition through his involvement in various theatrical productions, including the highly acclaimed Jerusalem at London’s Royal Court Theatre. He has also taken on significant roles in both television and film, with notable appearances in BAFTA’s Award-winning television film Pleasureland (2003), as well as in series such as The Bay (2019) and Six (2017).
Vladimir Makarov – Julian Kostov
Confirmed by Call of Duty through a dedicated character trailer, the return of Vladimir Makarov in Modern Warfare 3 has been officially unveiled, portrayed by Bulgarian actor Julian Kostov. Makarov remains one of the most detested yet iconic antagonists in the Modern Warfare saga.
In previous games, Vladimir Makarov was the leader of an Ultranationalist extremist group, guided by Imran Zakhaev. He was a hidden yet impactful antagonist in the first Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and later became the central villain in the original Modern Warfare 3, released in 2011.
Kostov is recognized as an actor and producer, having been involved in projects such as Shadow and Bone (2021), Temple (2019), and the forthcoming remake of The Toxic Avenger (1984).
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley – Samuel Roukin
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley stands out as one of the most cherished characters within the Call of Duty franchise. He played a significant role in the original MW2 2009, featuring some of the game’s most unforgettable moments. He serves as the second-in-command of Price’s special operations unit, Task Force 141.
Recognizable by his iconic skull-patterned mask and tactical attire, Ghost rapidly captured the hearts of fans due to his unique appearance and enigmatic charm.
After Activision cut ties with previous Ghost actor Jeff Leach, recognized English actor and writer Samuel Roukin was chosen to take the role. Roukin has participated in notable productions like Turn: Washington’s Spies (2014), Oscar-nominated Happy-Go-Lucky (2008), and Marvel’s Agents of Shield (2013).
Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick – Elliot Knight
Known as Captain Price’s right-hand man and beloved by fans since his first appearance in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick has been a major player at MW 2019, helping Price to find The Wolf and The Butcher.
In his original version, players will remember Gaz for his massive loyalty, which led him, after chasing down Imran Zakhaev alongside a team of commanders, to being coldly eliminated by the terrorist leader and main antagonist of the Modern Warfare saga.
Gaz is played by English actor Elliot Knight, who’s recognized for his roles in popular series like How to Get Away with Murder (2014), Titans (2018), Law and Order UK (2009), and Animal Kingdom (2016).
Johnny ‘Soap’ MacTavish – Neil Ellice
Johnny ‘Soap’ MacTavish holds a significant place among players, having made his debut in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Alongside Gaz and Ghost, he’s a vital member of Price’s esteemed Task Force 141.
In his rebooted version, portrayed by actor Neil Ellice, he assembles an amazing duo with Ghost and shares a noteworthy connection with Los Vaqueros’ leader, as Alejandro Vargas assists him and Ghost in clearing several buildings in the cartel compound while being covered from above by the Shadow Company.
Neil Ellice is a film and theatre English actor, well-known for his roles in other video games and popular TV series like Disney’s Loki (2021), Mortal Kombat: Legacy (2011), and Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn (2012) mini-series.
General Shepherd – Glenn Morshower
General Shepherd is one of Modern Warfare’s saga familiar yet hugely controversial characters. He became infamous in the original 2009’s MW2 due to Task Force 141’s betrayal and ruthless Ghost elimination, which most fans will never forgive him for.
In 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, Morshower’s new interpretation of the character was quite welcome by the players as they thought they witnessed a positive transformation of the character, despite his unfavorable past reputation. However, he continues to uphold that negative reputation due to his reiterated betrayal of CIA agent Laswell and Price’s Task Force 141.
Glenn Morshower is known for his participation in popular series and movies like 24 (2001), Agents of Shield (2013), Moneyball (2011), and Black Hawk Down (2001), among many more.
Phillip Graves – Warren Kole
Similar to Shepherd in both attitude and expertise in betrayals, Phillip Graves, portrayed by Warran Kole, has left his mark on the Modern Warfare saga since his debut in Modern Warfare 2.
As the CEO of the private military organization Shadow Company, Graves has been involved in “assisting” TF141. However, despite his initial association with Shepherd, he eventually severed ties with the team, leading players to add him to the enemies list.
Kole is hugely recognized for his main lead in USA Network’s TV series Common Law (2012), as well as his participation in other video games and series like Rafe Adler in Uncharted 4 and 24 (2001).
Farah Ahmed Karim – Claudia Doumit
Commander Farah Ahmed Karim, a protagonist in Modern Warfare 2019, returned in a supporting role in the Modern Warfare II campaign and later became a playable protagonist in the Atomgrad Raid series.
In MW2, Farah collaborates with Nikolai, Price, and Gaz to save Laswell from Al-Qatala’s abduction. With Price and Gaz’s aid, she also rescues Alex. Farah makes a crucial decision by siding with the 141 unit over her brother Hadir, thwarting his use of a deadly warhead.
Claudia Doumit is known for her role as Victoria Neuman in Amazon Prime’s series The Boys (2019), and her participation in other movies and series like Timeless (2016), and Where’d You Go, Bernadette (2019).
Kate Laswell – Rya Kihlstedt
If the Task Force 141 team works perfectly, part of the credit goes to CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell, who has overseen plenty of operations including those based in Verdansk, Al Mazrah, Urzikstan, and Vondel, among others.
The character is portrayed by Rya Kihlstedt, who has appeared in popular movies and series such as Brave New World (1998), Dexter (2006), The Atticus Institute (2015), Superman & Lois (2021), and more.
Alex Keller – Chad Michael Collins
Alex Keller, played by Chad Michael Collins, made his debut in Modern Warfare 2019 as a member of the CIA’s Special Activities Division. He collaborated with the Urzikstani Liberation Force under the leadership of Farah Karim, participating in her fight against Roman Barkov’s regime.
Initially presumed dead, he resurfaced to continue aiding Farah and Task Force 141. After losing communication with TF141, he was rescued by Price, Farah, and Gaz, delivering a message from Farah’s brother Hadir. This message was pivotal in thwarting Al-Qatala’s plans involving a warhead threat.
Collins is an American actor widely recognized for his lead roles in the Sniper movie series. His filmography also includes works like Assailant (2022), Howlers (2019), and Room 33 (2009), among others.
