Details on the Ranked Play Season 1: Begins Dec. 1 at 10AM PT
Sledgehammer Games has shared some new details as we approach the start of Season 1 of Ranked Play in Call of Duty: WWII. It will begin at 10AM PT on December 1 on PS4 and Xbox One.
Ranked Play is a competitive based mode, where the Call of Duty esports (CWL V1) rule set is active. The mode is 4v4. Season 1 is the placement season. You can play through matches and get promoted to the different tiers in Ranked to be placed into Season 2.
There are 7 tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Masters. Once you reach Masters, if you are in the top 100, you will receive a special Pro status. Alongside this, SHG has stated there will be special helmets given out for placing in certain tiers are the end of a season.
Ranked Play will feature a penalty of a limited time ban from playing in Ranked Play for leaving games:
- 1 offense: 15 minutes
- 2 offense: 30 minutes
- 3 offense: 45 minutes
Season 1 is a placement season, so that the game can set your MMR rank for Season 2 and beyond.
SHG has stated party functionality is disabled in Ranked Play at the start. It will be enabled shorty.
The Placement Season that starts tomorrow is important to establish players’ MMR-based starting tier for Call of Duty: WWII Seasons 2 and beyond. It also gives us the opportunity to ensure that all Ranked Play functionality is solid and delivers the best experience for players. Please note: Initially, party functionality will not be available at the start of Season 1. While the Placement Season is crucial to building our individual MMR player database, we will be enabling parties in Ranked Play soon.
