Is there split-screen in Modern Warfare 3?
ActivisionModern Warfare 3 is filled with a ton of content to keep you entertained, including a campaign, Zombies, and multiplayer. We’ve seen a split-screen feature in previous CoD titles, so you may be wondering if you can enjoy MW3 locally on the same system.
Here’s everything you need to know about the split-screen feature in MW3.
Does MW3 have split-screen?
Yes, Modern Warfare 3 has the split-screen feature available, but only for multiplayer mode. You can’t play split-screen in Zombies or the campaign.
There are a few game modes you also can’t play in split-screen for MW3’s multiplayer such as Free-For-All and Infected. A message will pop up if you try informing you that you’ll need to disconnect the second player if you wish to play them. This is to uphold the competitive integrity of the matches.
How to play split-screen in MW3 on PlayStation & Xbox
- Boot up MW3.
- Connect the second controller to your console.
- Add a PlayStation/Xbox Account for the second controller. If you already have another user profile created, simply assign it to the other controller.
- Press the prompt for joining the split screen on the top right of your game screen (X/A).
- Select multiplayer for game modes that allow split-screen.
If you try launching Zombies or the campaign while connected with both controllers, you’ll receive a message to inform you that these modes don’t allow split-screen and if you wish to proceed, you’ll need to remove the other player from the device.
Can you split-screen on PC?
No, you can not play MW3 split-screen on PC, as the feature is only available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Split-screen is a great feature for those who enjoy playing couch co-op games, so hopefully we see it return when Black Ops 6 lands on October 25, 2024. We know round-based Zombies is returning for the new Treyarch title too, so hopefully, that will allow split-screen like it has in the past.
