Every Modern Warfare 2 item carrying over to Modern Warfare 3: Weapons, Operators, more
ActivisionCall of Duty has already revealed that MW2 content will carry over to Modern Warfare 3, but many players are wondering what exactly they can access in the new game, so here’s everything to know about MW2 items like weapons, bundles, Operators, camos, and more being carried over to MW3.
Much to the delight of the Modern Warfare 2 player base, Modern Warfare 3 sees several items from the previous game being carried over to the sequel, which effectively retains player progress and leaves unlocked content like weapons, bundles, Operators, camos, and more untouched in the new game as well as Warzone.
However, players want to know what items come under the umbrella of carrying over content from the previous game, which is quite natural since many of them have spent hundreds of hours grinding their way to four-figure levels.
Here’s a list of every Modern Warfare 2 item that carries over to Modern Warfare 3.
Modern Warfare 3 Carry Forward explained
The term “Carry Forward” refers to the transfer of existing content from Modern Warfare 2, allowing this content to be accessible within Modern Warfare 3. Content includes items like weapons and cosmetic elements such as bundles, Operators, rewards, and unlocks.
All MW2 items carrying over to Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty confirmed that all content unlocked in Modern Warfare 2 carries over to Modern Warfare 3, including the following content:
- Weapons
- Operators & Operator skins
- Blueprints
- Camos for all weapons
- Weapon Charms
- Stickers
- Emblems
- Loading Screens
- Double XP Tokens
- Certain Vehicle skins & Wartracks
- Weapon progression
- Attachments
- Pre-order bonus rewards like the Lockpick Operator Pack
- Twitch viewership rewards
- Beta rewards
- COD Points
- Season 6 Battle Pass progress
- Calling Cards
- Gun screens
Every MW2 weapon that you unlocked from Levels 1 to 55 will carry over to Modern Warfare 3, maintaining both their level and progress status, including all unlocks and attachments.
This progression will stay synced, so you will be able to level up the weapon in MW2 or MW3 and it’ll keep its level in both titles.
MW2 Base Operators must be unlocked through MW2 via specific challenges (like Campaign or Spec Ops modes) and will only be available in Modern Warfare 3 if you unlocked skins for them, as these skins will carry forward.
Fortunately for many players, all MW2 camos will be available in Modern Warfare 3. In addition to this, you can use every MW2 camo aside from the Completionist camos with all MW3 weapons.
One of the biggest concerns players have every year when a new title is released is the availability of the camos they’d grind for months to unlock, so this news will certainly be greeted with enthusiasm. In addition, players will also have the opportunity to unlock new camos, since Modern Warfare 3 will have its own camo roster and weapons to unlock.
Another big addition to the content being carried over is the Season 6 Battle Pass, which means that players will be able to resume their progress within Modern Warfare 3 and gain XP Tokens and rewards. Also, every item you unlocked or earned while playing the MW3 beta or watching Twitch streams that granted drops will be carried over.
Players should note that if content like a tactical vehicle or specific lethal or tactical equipment isn’t available in Modern Warfare 3, the unlocked items from MW2 will not be available.
