Exploit in Day 2 Gift results in players getting 1000s+ Keys – UPDATE

FINAL UPDATE: The Day 2 Holiday Gift is now live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players have until 12PM ET on December 23 to redeem the Gift Drop to get 20 Keys.

UPDATE 2: The Day 2 Holiday Gift is now live again on Xbox One. Players have an additional 12 hours to redeem it. PS4 servers are going offline now to make the same update to the platform.

 

 

UPDATE: Infinity Ward has tweeted that they are still working on a fix, and those that did exploit this will be fixed. Infinity Ward has confirmed they know exactly which users exploited the glitch. No clear details yet on how users will be fixed has been announced yet.

An exploit discovered in the Day 2 of 12 Days of Winter Gift has resulted in players getting 1000s of extra keys.

The Day 2 Gift was a Supply Drop that gave players 20 Keys, but an exploit caused the Drop to be able to be opened unlimited amount of times. Infinity Ward discovered this and has since removed the Gift Drop from the game. They have said that drop will return once a fix is in place.

Players have sent us images showing they have over 1000s of Keys, some even showing 40,000 Keys available because of this exploit.

It is not clear how Infinity Ward plans to take the extra keys away from players, or if they are planning to do so.

Some users jumped to this occasion asking why this can be removed so fast, but no leaderboards yet. Infinity Ward responded with this:
