Fast-killing Warzone LMG set to replace STG44 meta in Season 5 Reloaded

Warzone’s STG44 Assault Rifle has dominated ever since it arrived with the Season 5 update, but there’s a high chance its reign will end with the Season 5 Reloaded update, and a powerful LMG is ready to take its place.

Major weapon buffs and nerfs arrive with each seasonal patch, and Season 5’s mid-season update on August 31st should be no different. While we don’t know what exactly will change, I’d be surprised if the STG and Static-HV aren’t firmly removed from the meta; it’s almost impossible to beat these guns if using anything else.

Any gun could take their place with the right buff, but if the TAQ Eradicator LMG remains untouched, it’s in prime position to be the best gun in the game

What makes the TAQ Eradicator so powerful is its consistent long-range TTK. Currently, the STG outguns it within 37 meters, but the Eradicator kills much faster beyond that distance.

Warzone STG vs TAQ Eradicator TTK chart
The TAQ Eradicator has a consistently fast TTK.

STG nerfs will likely target its close-range damage which would open the door for weapons like the TAQ Eradicator to take over the meta.

The only problems are that its recoil is hard to control compared to the STG, and you’ll need to make sure you have a powerful SMG for close-range fights.

Players on Reddit have also highlighted the BAL-27 Assault Rifle as a contender thanks to its balance between damage and low recoil.

Usually, I’d expect a new weapon introduced in the update to dominate the meta but Season 5 Reloaded doesn’t bring anything that could. The only new weapons are the Spear Melee Weapon and a compound bow called the Torque 35.

While the Torque 35 Launcher could be deadly in the right hands, it’s probably going to be more of a niche weapon that meta-chasers will ignore.

Of course, it’s hard to predict what the Season 5 Reloaded meta will be, but thanks to its fast TTK at long-range, my bets are on the TAQ Eradicator being a dominant choice ahead of Black Ops 6’s beta on August 30.
