First Call of Duty 2024 deep dive coming at Xbox Games Showcase

Xbox announced a brand-new Games Showcase featuring a “special deep dive” for Call of Duty’s 2024 game, rumored to be the next Black Ops entry.

Despite continued MW3 and Warzone seasonal updates, all eyes are set on the expected return of Treyarch as they get set to usher in CoD 2024, the next long-awaited Black Ops title.

On April 30, Xbox announced their Games Showcase featuring an exclusive Redacted Direct event rumored to be for Call of Duty 2024. The key art shared by the official Xbox X account showcases the multi-headed dog Cerberus, which coincides with CoD 2024’s codename.

While no details about the event were disclosed, Xbox’s Redacted Direct is set to be a “special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise.” Based on the event’s description, images used, and a report from The Verge, all signs point to Call of Duty.

The event will take place on June 9 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST across Xbox’s official YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch channels and will be the first showcase featuring games from Activision Blizzard.

With a date now set, players will need to wait to discover official details regarding the upcoming Call of Duty 2024. So far, the game will reportedly be set during the Gulf War, going through different events within this historical setting.
