Forgotten MW2 Assault Rifle outguns Warzone’s meta weapons with crazy TTK
ActivisionAssault Rifles is one of the most competitive categories in Warzone Season 3 and an underrated MW2 option actually stands above the most popular picks when it comes to TTK.
Warzone‘s meta was made even more interesting in Season 3, as the many MW2 guns received a major buff to make them more viable. Many of the older options benefitted from this change, but none more so than the TR-76 Geist.
This Assault Rifle had been starting to make waves towards the end of Season 2, but the reduction in gun smoke and ADS idle sway buff has made it a force to be reckoned with on both Urzisktan and Rebirth Island, thanks to an impressive time-to-kill.
Call of Duty expert WhosImmortal agreed with this sentiment in an upload to his YouTube channel, where he broke down the TTKs of all the meta Assault Rifle in Warzone right now.
He found that only the BP50 can rival its TTK at close range, but the TR-76 Geist soon leaves it behind once you hit the 15 to 25-meter mark, as it can drop a fully-plated enemy in between 650 and 700ms. It then remains competitive in the mid-range, matching and in some cases betting the stats of favorites like the RAM-7 and STB 556.
With this in mind, the TR-76 Geist is most effective at close to mid-range in Warzone. Its “crazy” TTK up to around 35 meters makes it the perfect partner to a long-range weapon, such as an LMG or Sniper Rifle. In my experience, the only drawback is that it does fall off slightly when it comes to longer-range gunfights. If you’re looking to run this as your primary gun for picking off enemies, then the likes of the BP50 or Holger 556 might be more suited to your needs.
However, if you want something to complement your MORS Sniper or Bruen Mk9, then the TR-76 Geist is a fast-killing and low-recoil AR that won’t let you down.
