The futuristic setting of Advanced Warfare and possibility of a sequel

GameInformer has posted a new interview SHGames’s Co-Founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey about imagining the futuristic setting of Advanced Warfare.

With Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Sledgehammer Games is branching out from its predecessors and creating an entirely new universe for the series. Studio heads Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey wanted to create a futuristic world set in the year 2054, but one that can’t be described as “sci-fi”. We spoke with Schofield and Condrey about the challenges of creating a vision of the future from scratch and what it means for the Call of Duty franchise.

UPDATE:  In the interview, at the last few minutes, Glen also talks about the possibility of an Advanced Warfare 2 and what they future may hold. He said that he’s always thinking about what’s next, and that they are leaving the game’s story and world in a certain way that will allow the possibilities of another Advanced Warfare game. They reassured fans that as of now, the team is fully focused on developing a complete game with Advanced Warfare and that the team is still working on the current title only.

Here’s what Glen said:

I’ve thought about it..I almost have too. I have to think about the ending of the game all the time and what happens…and I can’t just have the world go away. There definietly has to be some thinking of not ruining the story and everything or the world. So, we’re keeping it in a place where another game could exist.
