How to get a Nuke in Black Ops 6 − requirements & best strategy

One of the most impressive things you can do in Call of Duty is drop a Nuke, and the powerful Killstreak returns with the Black Ops 6 beta.

First arriving back in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, the Tactical Nuke Killstreak rewards the best players with the opportunity to end the game by blowing up the map, resulting in a victory for your team.

It’s typically been left out of Black Ops games, only arriving in Cold War post-launch. However, it’s in Black Ops 6 at launch, so here’s how to get it and the best strategy you can use in the beta.

Black Ops 6 Nuke requirements

You’ll need to get 30 kills in a row with weapons and equipment to get the Nuke Killstreak in Black Ops 6. Following the trend of recent games, Scorestreak kills won’t count, so you’ll have to do it all yourself.

You don’t have to equip the Nuke either, once you hit 30 kills in a row it’ll appear as a fourth option on the Killstreak bar.

While it has been called a few different things over the years, Black Ops 6 goes back to basics by simply calling it a Nuke. After it’s called in, a five-second timer will count down and the game will end.

Streamer JustHazzardous dropped the first-ever BO6 Nuke at the Call of Duty Next event, achieving the coveted 30 gun streak. Here, we can see the gnarly animation of your character burning alive before the game ends in victory for the team that calls it in.

It doesn’t look like Black Ops 6 shows your killstreak with every kill, so you’ll have to be aware of how many kills you’ve got in a row. Or, if you suffer from the yips, it might be better not to know.

Admittedly, getting a Nuke is largely down to luck as you need a perfect lobby of players that you’re much better than. However, you can implement the right strategy to give yourself the best chance.

Best BO6 Nuke strategy

To get a Nuke in Black Ops 6, you should equip a powerful weapon you’re comfortable with alongside Scorestreaks that provide intel.

You should also try to learn the spawns on the map as if you know where the enemies are spawning from then it’s easier to keep them in front of you and avoid getting shot in the back.

Best Field Upgrade

The Assault Pack is the best Field Upgrade when going for a Nuke as you can resupply your ammo and equipment on the fly. There’s nothing worse than having to scramble for a new weapon because you’ve run out of ammo, so the Assault Pack ensures you’re always topped up.

Best Scorestreaks

• Scout Pulse
• UAV
• Counter UAV

We recommend running these Scorestreaks in the Black Ops 6 beta as they provide a ton of useful info. The Scout Pulse is new, giving off a small radar ping that reveals enemies on your minimap. Then, the UAV is a classic streak that shows enemy positions for everyone on your team, and the Counter UAV takes away enemy info.

A Chopper Gunner is a powerful streak that can rack up a ton of kills, but you’ll be left as a sitting duck and none of the kills will count toward the Nuke anyway.

Best Perks & Wildcard

• Wildcard: Perk Greed
• Perk 1: Ninja
• Perk 2: Gung-Ho
• Perk 3: Cold-Blooded
• Bonus Perk: Ghost

Perk selection is largely down to personal preference but we’d recommend a setup like this. Ninja will be useful all the time, stopping you from getting pre-fired by players who hear you approach. Ghost is also a great bonus choice thanks to the Perk Greed Wildcard, making sure your position is hidden from enemy UAVs.

Next, Gung-Ho helps with mobility, ensuring you won’t be caught out while reloading, and Cold-Blooded prevents your streak from being ended by an enemy Scorestreak. Play around with the Perks and choose what works best for you though.
