The STG Assault Rifle is one of four new weapons you’ll be able to unlock in MW3 and Warzone Season 5, giving the iconic STG-44 a modern makeover.

This fan-favorite rifle was a meta weapon during Vanguard and the Caldera era of Warzone, and there’s every chance that it dominate the battle royale and multiplayer once again.

If you’re wondering how to get your hands on it, here’s how to unlock the STG in Warzone and MW3.

How to get STG Assault Rifle in Warzone and MW3

You can unlock the STG by completing Sector 7 of the Season 5 Battle Pass once it goes live on July 24. Luckily, it is one of the free rewards up for grabs, meaning you can earn it even if you don’t purchase the Premium BP.

Just like past weapons, the Assault Rifle will be the final unlock of the Sector, so you’ll need to spend four Tokens to receive the smaller rewards, before using one final Token to permanently add the gun to your inventory.

There’s no doubt that the STG-44 is an iconic Call of Duty weapon, which fans will remember from all the way back in 2007’s World at War, and more recently 2021’s Vanguard. It’s dominated virtually every game it’s appeared in and, based on the devs’ description, it looks set to do the same in MW3.

“The rifle that heralded the age of the assault rifle as a global standard. Fully automatic and chambered in 7.92x33mm, this is a hard-hitting primary weapon,” they said in the Season 5 blog. “That power results in a signature recoil pattern that though noticeable is easily controlled for accurate fire.”

They also revealed a handful of attachments that could propel it into the meta once it arrives, from the 60 Round Mags that increase its ammo capacity to the JAK BFB Aftermarket Part which drastically reduces its recoil.

Only time will tell where the STG fits in the meta after it makes its debut in Season 5, especially in Warzone. While fans will no doubt be eager to try it out, knocking the likes of the Holger 26, SVA 545, or MCW off their perch will be no easy task.
