Iconic Warzone weapon & fan-favorite Verdansk POI return in Season 5
ActivisionOver the past few seasons, Warzone received a ton of nostalgia-filled content, and that trend will continue with Season 5 bringing an iconic CoD weapon alongside a fan-favorite Verdansk POI.
On July 16, Call of Duty confirmed via an X post that Superstore, one of Verdansk’s most iconic landmarks, will arrive in Urzikstan with Season 5 on July 24. Additionally, players noticed the teaser includes a small frame of the iconic STG-44.
The Superstore POI is characterized by its imposing stature and supermarket theme, offering players a huge site to loot at the start of their matches and face enemies quickly.
This area is also intended to become the main attraction for the Plunder mode, similar to Warzone’s original iteration.
As shown in the video teaser, the landing spot will retain its characteristic layout. It will include some quality-of-life changes, such as zip lines inside and around it, to make it more accessible. The location will be slightly better illuminated than its previous version, allowing players to hunt down enemies more easily.
Meanwhile, the STG-44 is set to make an appearance in MW3 and Warzone after last featuring in Vanguard and Warzone Caldera. The Assault Rifle is one of the most popular in the franchise, appearing in over 10 games.
To complete the nostalgic package, Season 5’s storyline is set to feature Valeria Garza, Task Force 141’s main threat in the MW2 campaign. Considering the addition of new Operators in previous seasons, there’s likely to be themed seasonal content surrounding Valeria.
