Is Modern Warfare 3 Zombies free-to-play?
ActivisionMW3 is the latest release on the rebooted Modern Warfare series of the Call of Duty franchise, and it comes with a new Zombies mode. The new take on the undead resembles DMZ, and if you are wondering if MWZ is also free to play, here’s all you need to know.
The third entry of the rebooted Modern Warfare series has been released, and with it, a new Zombies mode is set on the Urzikstan map. With new Act missions to complete, and a lot of ground to cover, the extraction-based MW3 Zombies mode is a lot of fun to play in co-op.
With Warzone and DMZ being free to play, it’s natural for new players to ask themselves if MW3 can be played for free. The Zombies mode was added to the CoD HQ app, and from there, you can access MW2, Warzone, DMZ, and MW3 with Zombies.

Is MW3 Zombies free-to-play?
MW3 Zombies is not free-to-play as it requires access to Modern Warfare 3. The complete package is available to buy and play for $69.99 / £69.99.
Similar to every Call of Duty game with Zombies, this survival mode stays on the paid side of things, leaving Warzone and DMZ the main free-to-play Call of Duty experiences. Some free to play sessions were active during December 2023, letting players play for free for a few days.
Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision promised that the Call of Duty franchise would arrive on Xbox Game Pass at some point. With no news so far, players will have to buy the whole experience that MW3 has to offer on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.
