Modern Warfare 2 players slam The Haunting event’s lack of multiplayer content
ActivisionThe Haunting event has arrived for Modern Warfare 2, but players are not happy with the amount of content that has been added in the game’s final update.
The final update for Modern Warfare 2 has arrived after the end of Modern Warfare 3’s beta, giving players new content to enjoy before MW3 launches on November 10, 2023.
While new Halloween-inspired Operator skins and the Soul Capture event provide players with some entertainment, many feel there’s a major lack of content for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer with The Haunting event, as players vent their frustrations with the update on Reddit.
User Akut90000 put a post in the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit highlighting the lack of multiplayer content, as they said: “if the ‘spooky twists’ are just the dogtags replaced with some pumpkins or skulls I’m going to delete this game on the spot.”
Users in the comments quickly responded, “start deleting,” while another said, “you’d expect them to put in effort during the last season of the game LMFAO!”
A comment also compared the Halloween content in Warzone and DMZ to multiplayer, as they said “apparently wz/dmz is actually getting jump scare crates,” clearly wanting something similar for MW2’s multiplayer.
One comment referred back to the time the devs “added Krampus in Vanguard,” saying that may be the reason there is no extra Halloween content in multiplayer as “everyone hated that.”
That said, there are quite a few Halloween-themed changes for multiple MW2 modes, including Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind, Drop Zone, and Infected. While these might not be game-changing, they do bring the Halloween spirit to the game.
Besides, players won’t have to wait long for Modern Warfare 3’s release, which will provide a heap of content for them to get through. In the meantime, make sure you check out how to get the Diablo 4 Operator skins in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.
