Warzone 2 The Haunting Operation Nightmare: Al Mazrah nighttime version
Warzone 2’s The Haunting: Operation Nightmare in DMZ and Battle Royale will bring a significant alteration to Al Mazrah. In the spirit of the Halloween season, this map will now have a nighttime version.
During this Operation, players will have the exciting opportunity to hunt Eldritch entities, venture into enigmatic locations, eliminate high-value targets, and take on a range of challenges. Successfully completing these challenges will earn you exclusive rewards, including a unique weapon blueprint.
Additionally, according to the Roadmap, Al Mazrah will also feature new looks for several points of interest, including a Marshlands redesign and another one called Parted Seas, featuring huge boats.
The Haunting Warzone 2 Zombie Royale limited-time mode
The Zombie Royale limited-time mode returns in Warzone 2 The Haunting with new features and also some beloved elements from previous iterations.
In this mode, eliminated Operators become zombies and no longer head to the Gulag. Instead, they gain unique powers by hunting down living Operators. The only way to restore players to their human form is by using syringes scattered on the map.
As the match progresses, all spectating Operators’ corpses resurrect as zombies, adding more undead adversaries. Squads can still function with some members as zombies, allowing for diverse teamwork strategies. However, eliminated zombies remain out of the game, in order to win, players must conquer both the living and the undead.
The Haunting Warzone 2 Vondead map
Not only Al Mazrah but also Resurgence Vondel will undergo a nighttime transformation. This includes the introduction of a night version called “Vondead,” where players will engage in battles against a zombie outbreak within a revamped map filled with burning vehicles, vandalized shops, and other changes like “haunted weather.”
The CoD blog revealed the existence of demonic altars in close proximity to Vondead, which appear to be functioning as a source of power for the events. These mysterious altars have intriguing ties to the notorious myth and legend “The Butcher,” a well-known character in the Diablo IV universe.
The Haunting Warzone 2 Lockdown limited-time mode
The Halloween-themed Vondead Lockdown mode has returned in Season 6 Reloaded of Warzone 2, based on the objective-based Lockdown mode from Season 4.
In this spooky nighttime version of the Vondel map, teams can utilize their customized loadouts and earn points by securing specific zones on the map, reminiscent of the mechanics found in multiplayer’s Hardpoint mode.
The Haunting Warzone 2 Equipment & items
Aside from the introduction of zombies across the map and the substantial alterations to the maps with their nighttime variants, The Haunting event will also introduce unique Equipment and items exclusively for Warzone 2.
Haunted Box
In Al Mazrah and Vondead, zombies occasionally drop mysterious loot boxes, which can also be found throughout the maps. When opened, these boxes provide plates, ammo, and gear, serving as a unique blend of armor and munitions boxes.
Bloodseeker Grenade
Designed like a vampire bat, the Bloodseeker Grenade sticks to enemies, making them stand out on thermal imaging, which is useful for nighttime missions.
Jump Scares
Lootable containers in Al Mazrah and Vondead now bring back the infamous surprise of jump scares, giving players a sudden fright while searching for loot.
Modern Warfare 2 The Haunting event maps
With the mid-season update, Modern Warfare 2 will feature two multiplayer map Halloween reskins for El Asilo which “celebrates Día de Muertos,” and Embassy facing a zombie onslaught.
Modern Warfare 2 The Haunting event modes
Along with changes to maps in Modern Warfare 2, The Haunting update will also bring the Grind mode back and some Halloween twists to a select number of classic modes:
- Haunting Domination: In this iteration of the Domination mode, anticipate the presence of Scarecrows serving as markers for each flag.
- Haunting Kill Confirmed and Grind: Instead of Dog Tags, collect skulls in Grind and Kill Confirmed
- Haunting Drop Zone Drop Scares: Secure and maintain control of the drop zone to accumulate points for your team, but exercise caution when accessing any crates as they may contain jump scares
