MW3 devs buff COR-45 after backlash but break popular Conversion Kit

The COR-45 Pistol was handed a huge nerf in the MW3 Season 5 update, making it virtually unusable in multiplayer and Warzone. After plenty of backlash from the community, the devs buffed the weapon with the July 30 update, but not everything went according to plan.

In Season 5, the devs dished out a major nerf to its fire rate, as well as two of the meta attachments that made it a viable option.

The base rate of fire was reduced to 240rpm from 375rpm. Meanwhile, the XRK v6 Match and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Actions, which both offer fire rate buffs, were also reduced to 264rpm and 272rpm from 438 and 545, respectively.

These changes weren’t received well by the community, who felt that the COR-45 had been nerfed into the ground and was completely unusable. The devs then responded to the feedback on July 30 by buffing the weapon’s rate of fire up to 450rpm and decreasing the rate of fire penalty for the XRK TR9 and XRK Lighting Fire Trigger attachments.

It didn’t take long for players to notice that the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit was not operating as intended following the buffs on July 30. The broken Conversion Kit was producing a 732% increase in the COR-45’s fire rate when equipped after the update. This left the devs with no choice but to disable the attachment to work on a fix.

There’s no timeframe for when the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit will be fixed. Despite the unexpected issue, players received what they originally asked for as the buff to the COR-45’s fire rate is live in both MW3 and Warzone.

What’s interesting about the change is that the devs buffed the Handgun’s fire rate to surpass what it was before the Season 5 nerf knocked it down a few notches. The fire rate clocked in at 375 RPM before the Season 5 update, and it’s now reached 450 RPM, essentially giving players what they asked for and then some.
