MW3 expert reveals “go-to SMG” after massive buff
Activision/YouTube: SwaggWith the wide variety of weapons that Modern Warfare 3 has to offer, players always want to know which ones are the best. Luckily, an MW3 expert revealed the “go-to SMG” for multiplayer matches after a massive buff from a weapon balancing update.
With the huge variety of weapons available in Modern Warfare 3, choosing the right one can be a difficult decision, while Assault Rifles have been part of the meta since the game’s launch, the close-range options were deemed as useful.
In Call of Duty, Submachine Guns are usually one of the most popular options, but their overall poor performance in MW3, with exceptions such as the Rival 9, forced players to use Shotguns.
However, following the major buff to SMGs with the November 21 update, content creator and MW3 expert Swagg revealed that the classic Striker could regain the popularity that it once had.
Swagg’s best Striker loadout for MW3
- Barrel: Striker Elite Long Barrel
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor S
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
- Magazine: 48 Round Mag
- Stock: Lachmann MK2 Light Stock
To kick off Swagg’s best Striker loadout for MW3, he picked the Striker Elite Long Barrel which improves the gun’s recoil and gun kick control as well as the bullet velocity and range. Combined with the Monolithic Suppressor S to further boost the recoil control.
Then, he went for the DR-6 Handstop which will help out with improving the aim walking, ADS, sprint-to-fire, and movement speeds. The Lachmann MK2 Light Stock also enhances movement and sprint-to-fire speed, which is essential for SMGs.
Finally, he selected the 48 Round Mag that will offer plenty of bullets in order to quickly eliminate opponents while moving through the maps, avoiding having to constantly reload.
In his video, Swagg states that the Striker “100% needed” a buff because it was “definitely on the weaker side, and couldn’t really compete against ARs up close,” but following the damage and its range improvements he’s sure this SMG could turn into a “go-to” option for most players.
