MW3 players call for return of fan-favorite party mode missing since BOCW
ActivisionSledgehammer Games have been adding new modes to Modern Warfare 3 with each major update, but players are hoping to see a popular playlist from past titles like CoD WWII and BOCW make a comeback.
Modern Warfare 3 players are spoilt for choice when it comes to different ways to play. On top of tried-and-tested options like Domination and Team Deathmatch, there’s also War and a fully-fledged Zombies mode for those who want a change of pace.
The devs have been releasing new modes with each major patch, as Vortex, Gunfight, and even Team Gunfight have arrived since launch. However, there are still a handful of past favorites yet to be added to the game.
Now, MW3 players are desperate for a classic mode to return for the first time since Black Ops Cold War four years ago.
Reddit user ‘Electronic_Essay3403’ shared a post asking the devs to “bring back Prop Hunt,” saying: “Prop Hunt is one of my favorite modes but I have to download WW2 to play Prop Hunt or Cold War. Plz bring it back I know I’m not alone on this.”
Prop Hunt is a party mode that tasks players with hiding from the enemy team by disguising themselves as random items from around the map. It’s a playlist that has appeared in a number of popular online shooters, and it made its way to the CoD series in 2017’s MW Remastered.
It showed up plenty of times in future releases, but it hasn’t been seen since 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. Players would clearly like to see it make a comeback in MW3, as a number of replies agreed with the OP.
“I really don’t understand why they don’t have prop hunt,” said one response, while another fan added: “Prop hunt was amazing. I’m hopeful the next cod game will make better use of it.”
Meanwhile, others pointed out that since MW3 Season 2 has featured a Zombies theme, the devs could easily make use of Mimics to bring the mode to the game.
We’ll have to wait and see if MW3 Season 2 Reloaded, which is set to bring even more Zombie-themed content, will introduce the mode, or if it appears in a future event.
