MW3 players slam “garbage” event reward that takes ages to earn
ActivisionModern Warfare 3‘s Critical Countdown event offers players a free weapon blueprint for the FR 5.56. Unfortunately, the community feels the reward is a “waste of time,” especially as it takes so long to complete the event and earn it.
The Critical Countdown event kicked off on May 29, and it’s quite the grind to complete. As we approach the Season 4 Reloaded update, some players are only just earning the reward, in which you have to complete all the event Mastery Challenges.
This requires you to collect a huge amount of DNA samples from fallen Operators in matches. You can get some pretty neat rewards along the way, such as Double XP Tokens and a Calling Card, but the World Ender FR 5.56 Weapon Blueprint is the main prize.
However, players on Reddit have been slamming the Blueprint reward and calling it a “waste of time.” One post asked, “What exactly is so special about this FR 5.56?” to which a user replied, “Nothing,” and another said, “Pretty much just bragging rights.”
Some have even gone as far as to call the Weapon Blueprint “garbage,” with others emphasizing the fact that the FR 5.56 is one of the game’s less popular Assault Rifles. According to the Reddit comments, this makes the Blueprint less appealing to players, and harder to brag about.
As one comment pointed out, the FR 5.56 World Ender Blueprint only has four attachments, which led to more disappointment in the community.
Some players just enjoy unlocking and collecting skins, so they feel less disappointed with the reward, but the majority feel the reward for the Critical Countdown event should have been more exciting.
With MW3 Season 4 Reloaded in-bound, new events and LTMs will likely bring more rewards, so hopefully these can satisfy players.
