What are Redacted Weapons in Warzone?

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded introduces Redacted Weapons to Urzikstan for the first time, but finding and getting them is no easy task. They’re well worth the hassle, though, as they can give you and your team a huge advantage – especially toward the end of a match.

These unique guns have appeared on Rebirth Island since Season 3 as a reward for tracking down Biometric Scanners, but the mid-Season 4 patch marks their debut on the big map. So, here’s how to get Redacted Weapons in Warzone and what they are.

Redacted Weapons explained

Warzone’s Redacted Weapons are special variants of existing guns that feature eight attachments. This is three more than the maximum of five that can be equipped in the Gunsmith as standard, meaning they have much bigger buffs to key stats than can usually be achieved.

Although you don’t get a say in what the weapons will be, whether it’s an Assault Rifle or Sniper, or which attachments are included, they are all designed to be extremely competitive.

With this in mind, it’s well worth trying to get hold of one ready for the endgame, as the extra attachments could give you an edge in the final few fights. They’re also ideal if you’ve just come back from the Gulag and are struggling to get your loadout back, as you’ll instantly receive a top-tier gun without spending any cash.

Where to find them

You can get hold of a Redacted Weapon by opening Supply Boxes at Loot Hot Zones or inside the secret Bunkers littered around the map, as confirmed by the official Warzone Season 4 Reloaded blog.

Hot Zones are picked at random and aren’t marked on your map, so you’ll have to hope you land on one or hop in a vehicle to explore and track one down.

You’ll find that the quality of loot in these areas is much higher than regular drops overall, as there are plenty of rare orange Supply Boxes. Redacted Weapons are among the rewards found at these locations, so don’t be surprised if you face some still competing from enemy teams.
