Rumor claiming this year’s Call of Duty title will be ‘Bloodlines’ most likely fake 

A new rumor has started floating around the web recently claiming that this year’s new Call of Duty title will be called ‘Call of Duty: Bloodlines.’ The rumor originated from a source who has leaked previous information regarding Nintendo platforms correctly, but we don’t buy his rumor on Call of Duty: Bloodlines.

His alleged leak states the following:

• Activision plans on bringing Skylanders at launch to the NX along with the next Call of Duty game called “Bloodlines” in Fall 2016. In 2017, the company will team up with Platinum Games to launch Spider-Man: The First Avenger which will tie into the MCU movie and universe. Activision is also being given “hard bargains” by Nintendo to have BETA access to “Beyond Destiny”, the sequel to Destiny which plans to launch Holiday 2017.
• Activision is interested in bringing Beyond Destiny to NX due to the fact you can play local and online multiplayer between units at the same time as well that the new mainline Pokémon games will not only guarantee a big NX user base but a new type of audience they can bring into the franchise. If this deal comes into fruition, Activision will release a “complete” version of the first Destiny game on NX in early 2017.

Now first and foremost, his claim that Skylanders could come to Nintendo’s newest platform shouldn’t be a surprise. Activision’s Skylanders franchise has always been on all Nintendo platforms, so them planning on bringing it to their newest platform is a no brainier, really.

Now, his second half leak is where we see things start to be false. Activision and Bungie have not even announced a possible PC release for Destiny; why would they go out of their way to make a NX version? It could be another studio handling the development of that, but after Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision has not released a shooter title for any Nintendo platforms.

Call of Duty has never really succeeded on Nintendo’s platform. Activision has released previous Call of Duty titles for Nintendo platforms, but stopped releasing them after Ghosts because lack of player counts. In fact, Wii U versions of Call of Duty got very minimal post-launch support. There are few patch updates to fix bugs, and maybe a pre-order bonus map added in, but that’s it. The support is nothing compared to how they support the other platforms.

While this leaker may have previously posted accurate leaks, we do not think this is true. Calling a Call of Duty title ‘Bloodlines’ just seems odd. It does not really match up with any naming schemes for Call of Duty’s before, and with a name like that, it’s hard to explain what the game is. Call of Duty game titles normally  the game: Modern Warfare being a game about ; Black Ops being a game about ; Advanced Warfare relating to the futuristic setting; Ghosts relating directly to the theme of ghosts soldiers.
