SHGames says Call of Duty 2014 is “ambitious” and “creative”; shows a character model to audience at GDC
Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey from Sledgehamer Games just took the stage at GDC 2014 in San Francisco and revealed a in-game render of one of the characters in this year’s Call of Duty (2014). The image only appeared for half a second at the beginning of the presentation, and because of this, there is no picture of it.
Sledgehammer Games also said that Call of Duty 2014 is the “most ambitious, most creative game we’ve ever made.” Sledgehammer Games is now consisted of 200 staff members developing on this year’s title. They have not revealed any other details about the game.
Sledgehammer Games previously worked on Modern Warfare 3 alongside Infinity Ward. Activision in February of 2014 announced that the company is transtioning to a 3 year development cycle, meaning SHGames, IW, and Treyarch will switch off. Sledgehammer Games is working on Call of Duty 2014, and the game is going to be ‘next-gen’ first development priority. Rumor suggests High Moon Studios may be working on porting the game to Xbox 360 & PS3, allowing SHGames to fully focus on the next gen versions.
