Upcoming Black Ops 4 Blackout Changes: SMG Updates, Storage Types, And More
Treyarch’s Studio Design Director has revealed on Twitter some of the upcoming changes to expect in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout.
In series of tweets, Vahn revealed that there will changes to SMGs, alternative Backpack types, and more work to allow players to understand how many players are dropping around you.
First off, they have been tracking data from the player counts in Blackout and starting to build up how they want to make changes to the game based on their data.
Vahn says that changes to SMG viability at different ranges are coming, a redesign of armor, changing the roles of 9-Bangs and Concussion play.
Expect changes to the SMG viability at mid-range, armor re-design, consolidated roles that 9-Bangs & Concussion play in the late game (hint: less redundancy and less punishing to your mobility). +

In addition, the other upcoming features are coming new alternative Backpack types in Blackout with different inventory types.
Excited about the work we have going to help you understand how many people are dropping with you. Wingsuits get you into the action fast and we like that -but it comes with the penalty of not being able to really size up just how hot it is. +

It’s not clear yet when these changes will go live, so stay tuned.
