Vahn confirms Armor is getting nerfed in Blackout
In a series of tweets tonight, Treyarch’s Studio Design Director has now confirmed that the studio has plans to nerf and adjust Armor in Blackout mode following the reaction from the community and stats they have collected since the beta’s start.
TL;DR – Armor is getting nerfed. Those changes will be tested tomorrow for *potential* release on Thursday morning.

Vahn states that with Blackout, they have more options to nerf and adjust items beyond just stat changes — they can adjust the availability of items to also create a change and nerf of the item.
The new Armor changes are being tested internally at the studio and could go live in-game in the beta on Thursday morning.
Vahn also laid out the process of adjustments for Blackout:
Here is how it works for important Items that need tuning like Armor.
Step 1. Fix any bugs. ✅
Step 2. Evaluate frequency and power of Item drop using science.
In progress.
Step 3. Nerf it!!!!!!
