Warzone players have been eagerly awaiting the rumored return of Verdansk, but new reports have suggested that the iconic map‘s comeback could delayed for a second time.

Although nothing has been officially announced, it’s practically common knowledge that Verdansk is returning to Warzone. But, according to ‘BobNetworkUK_,’ we may have to wait longer than expected to revisit the OG map.

The leaker claimed in an August 15 X post that it’s currently scheduled to be released with Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2, which will likely arrive in early 2025 based on previous years.

However, they went on to say that the long-awaited return could be “pushed back further” as developer Raven Software are “reportedly behind on their project deadlines.”

It was initially thought that the OG map would be reintroduced alongside Black Ops 6 Season 1, which will likely drop around the December 2024 mark, as reported by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson at the end of 2023.

This was then followed by the news that Verdansk had been delayed to the following year, as revealed by BobNetworkUK and corroborated by our own sources. It’s now thought that there will be no new Battle Royale map to kick off the new chapter of Warzone.

At the time no reasons were given for the holdup, but after this latest report, it seems that the devs are simply struggling to get the map ready in time. Luckily, it’s been confirmed that Ranked Play is still coming to Urzikstan sometime in 2024, which should help bridge the gap and keep the community occupied.

It’s worth keeping in mind that, despite numerous reports, this is all based on leaks, as Activision have never officially announced that Verdansk is coming back.

Although the eagerly-awaited return of Versansk is still some way off, there are still plenty of changes coming to Warzone with Black Ops 6, from a host of new guns to an overhauled movement system.
