Warzone Bounty Contest Public Event explained
ActivisionThe Warzone Season 5 update is packed full of content, including the new Bounty Contest Public Event that’s set to add a new layer of chaos to Resurgence mode.
Public Events are modifiers that pop up randomly mid-match and can completely change the pace of a game. We’ve seen the likes of Climb and Punishment and Heavy Armor introduced in seasonal updates, but this new addition could be the most frantic yet.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Bounty Contest event and how it works in Warzone.
How does new Bounty Contest event work in Warzone?
The Bounty Contest event instantly gives each squad still alive in a Resurgence lobby a Bounty to complete at the same. As always, these require you and your team to eliminate a player to earn a cash reward that can be spent on a loadout, Killstreak, or other Equipment.
However, the key difference is that once the target has been killed, you will move on to the next member of their squad. This continues until you’ve taken out every player in a rival squad or you get eliminated yourself.
There’s an extra incentive to rattle through the Bounties one after another, as the Warzone Season 5 blog confirmed that “squads going on a Bounty streak should also expect to rack up some serious money at a seriously quick pace.”
Just like with a traditional Bounty, the target’s location will marked on the map by a circle. However, an entire area will be shown, not the exact spot they’re standing in, so you’ll need to keep your wits about you and search for them.
Meanwhile, once the event is randomly triggered, the team hunting you will appear on the right of your screen, with a gauge underneath showing the threat level – the higher the threat, the closer the enemies are.
This could lead to some messy and chaotic plays, as teams try to complete their own Bounty while looking over their shoulder for the squad tracking them at the same time.
When the Bounty Contest Public Event goes live in Warzone Season 5, it will be exclusive to Resurgence matches on Rebirth Island, Vondel, and Fortune’s Keep. It remains to be seen if it comes to the main BR mode on Urzikstan in a future update.
