After months of waiting, the Warzone devs have finally revealed when Ranked Play is arriving on Warzone’s big Urzikstan map.

The mode returned to Warzone in Season 2 but is limited to Ranked Resurgence, which takes place exclusively on Fortune’s Keep and later Rebirth Island. While this scratched the itch for competitive players for a while, many have been desperate for the full Ranked Play experience seen on Al Mazrah.

Luckily, it was finally announced at CoD Next that the ranked mode will come to Urzikstan “shortly after the launch of Season 1” of Black Ops 6. Although we don’t have a concrete release date, it could arrive with the Reloaded update that we expect around December 17, 2024.

Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 came just over three weeks after its initial launch, with the mid-season update following four weeks later. If they stick to the same schedule, we can expect Black Ops 6 Season 1 on Wednesday, November 19, when Warzone and BO6 integrate before Season 1 Reloaded drops in mid-December.

This also lines up with what the devs announced back in Season 4, where they mentioned they were aiming to release Ranked Play Battle Royale “before the end of the year.”

Although we’ll have to wait for an official release date, this news will be music to the ears of Warzone players. While Ranked Resurgence has gone down well with the community, and Rebirth Island is one of the most popular maps in the game’s history, many have grown tired of playing the same mode for months.

It remains to be seen if Ranked Resurgence sticks around once Urzikstan Ranked Play arrives, and if it makes its way to the new Area 99 map. It’s also unclear if this news affects the rumored return of Verdansk, which leaks claim has been delayed until Black Ops 6 Season 2.
