Warzone gets first-ever Mastery Camo grind with Black Ops 6 Season 1
ActivisionA new Call of Duty game means a new camo grind and for the first time, Warzone weapons will have their very own Mastery Camos with Black Ops 6’s first season.
It’ll be no surprise to learn that Black Ops 6 and Zombies bring new Mastery Camos to unlock, it’s been a staple of the franchise for years, but Warzone has never had its own dedicated grind.
There have been unique camos to unlock through events and challenges, but for the first time ever, there will be four Mastery Camos to unlock through challenges – Gold Tiger, King’s Ransom, Catalyst, and Abyss.
All of Black Ops 6’s weapons hit Warzone with the Season 1 update, which also brings omnimovement, the Area 99 Resurgence map, and tons of quality life changes, so this is when you can expect the grind to begin.
Previously, Mastery Camos were basically impossible for Warzone-only players to get, but with Black Ops 6 they’ll finally get a camo grind built for the modes they play.
But, it all depends on what the challenges are like, as grinding camos in Warzone will likely be a lot more difficult than the other modes. You won’t be able to get the same constant action you can in multiplayer or Zombies and perhaps most importantly, there’s no guarantee you’ll get the gun you actually want to level up.
How it works remains to be seen, but expect a long and difficult grind – especially if you’re a completionist looking to earn all of multiplayer and Zombies’ camos at the same time.
There’s also no word on whether MW2 and MW3 weapons will get a new camo grind with the update, but maybe that’ll come later.
Last year, Modern Warfare 3’s pre-season lasted for three weeks and then the Season 1 update dropped. While some of the most dedicated players might manage to finish the multiplayer or Zombies grind before the Warzone integration, you’ll have to pick what you want to prioritize once the games integrate.
