Warzone players claim useless Killstreak “doesn’t work”

Warzone enjoyed plenty of positive changes with the integration of Modern Warfare 3, and with it, plenty of new things introduced with MW3 were also added to the battle royale. Of all the new additions, one Killstreak is dividing player opinions in Warzone.

Warzone continued to add more content following the Season 1 update. Players got a brand-new map, Urzikstan, and plenty of QoL changes. However, it hasn’t stopped players from pointing out the many frustrations they face.

This time, a player highlighted a Killstreak which they feel is useless. The Killstreak in question is the Mosquito Drone, which is a brand-new killstreak introduced to the series with Modern Warfare 3.

The Mosquito Drone has you aim and toss a drone that circles in an area and launches toward any enemy that passes through the area. But the streak is fairly easy to detect as it appears on your mini-map, can be shot down, and also has limited range. This has resulted in Warzone players saying it is useless.

Reddit user Kharrell_Simmonds talked about the Killstreak, saying that it “just flies around then disappears” whenever they fire it in Warzone

Plenty of others agreed with a user saying, “I play quads a couple [of] hours a day usually, and our crew has the common belief that it doesn’t work like [it’s] supposed to. I have never seen it hit or died to one to my recollection.”

Another remarked on the rare occasion where the streak did the job: “I died to one once. No idea what triggered it. Never works for me.” Many players think that it is bugged, “I have like a 15% success rate. My guess is that it’s bugged.”

However, some pointed out potential situations where using the streak can be useful, “Save it for opportune moments when you’re outside in a tight circle.”

Another user said, “Good against roof campers, good late game small circles, good for buy stations but gotta be ones pretty used. But they’re also on the map and not hard to find so I shoot them when I see them. Not the best streak but they’re good.”

While the chance is slim, there is always a possibility that the Killstreak will receive some tweaks in the future, as balance changes could arrive. Given that it isn’t a game-breaking issue, the priority is probably low on the devs’ radar.
