Warzone players demand buffs to “useless” Killstreak
ActivisionWarzone players are calling for changes to one of the game’s Killstreaks, as they feel it’s currently “useless.”
Warzone doesn’t just feature a host of weapons and loadout options to provide an advantage over the enemy, but you can also find useful items in the battle royale that will help steer you toward victory.
Of these items and Equipment that you can find in Warzone, Killstreaks are among the most powerful. While the Precision Airstrike is considered to be a meta Killstreak, unfortunately, the Mortar Strikes are not a fan-favorite, as players took to Reddit to express their opinions.
User TikiKie92 called the Mortar Strikes in Warzone the “most useless, inaccurate piece of s**t Killstreaks in the game,” as they explained a situation in which they used the Killstreak on a downed player but didn’t even get a “hit marker.”
They aren’t the only ones who feel this way about the Mortar Strikes Killstreak in Warzone either, as others in the comments agreed, “It’s indeed useless, enemies can mortar my roof and I will just stay there, the odds of it hitting me are like 10%.”
Some players also shared a similar sentiment to the OP regarding the accuracy of the Killstreak, as well as offering a way it could be made more effective, “I only ever use it as an area denial, simply because cod timing dictates if one willingly runs into it, they’ll be smoked. It really needs to land in a tighter group to actually be a viable ‘kill’streak.”
Clearly, players feel it should be more accurate, but others are defending the Killstreak, as some comments claimed that “mortars are more so for suppression, area denial, rotations, etc,” while another agreed, “Mortar strike is meant to cover an area. Precision strike is meant to be precise….hence the name. If you want precision use the Precision strike.”
So, while some feel it is a “useless” Killstreak and are calling for changes, others feel it is balanced and that players are not using it correctly.
Regardless, Warzone’s next big update will be Season 2, so we’ll have to see if player complaints about the Mortar Strike are addressed.
